TAKE A LOOK AT SOME SCARS ON YOUR BODY....
“Take a look at some of the scars on your body, you’ll notice how some are lighter than the rest of your skin. A silver slash that makes you look tougher than you really are.
After we are hurt our wounds heal, but some wounds like to be remembered.
Think of every scar on your body as a small trophy and think of yourself as the reigning champion in survival. The scars displayed or hidden from the world are reminders that we were hurt, but don’t forget we survived.
We weren’t buried six feet under because of them.
Instead we emerged from the soil and reached for the sun, because our scars resembled sunshine.
Even the wounds that are hidden in our hearts heal.
Sometimes we forget because they’re intangible.
We can’t trace our fingers over the smoothed skin.
We can’t show our friends evidence of the pain.
Sometimes, we forget the scars in our hearts until something triggers us to flash back to the pain.
We allow the darkness to swallow us whole, because we believe there is no longer light in our souls.
The pain is so profound we think we might die and sometimes if we’re lucky we realize how awful it would be to die of heartache.
I’m here to remind you of the other scars on your body.
The wounds that healed and turned into silver because they wanted to be noticed.
Your heart has been healed and time has turned it into silver.
It’s been trying to show you its light, but you’ve been forcing it to forget.
Some wounds like to be remembered, but pay very close attention to the ones that want to be forgotten.”
