SUFFERINGS NEVER DISCRIMINATE ON BASIS OF GENDER
Rani was born in south India and spent her childhood in
poverty. Conditions worsened when due to an accident, her father become
handicapped and became incapable of doing his job. A bed ridden husband and the
perils of growing up so many kids made Rani’s mother hand her over to a woman
who had promised that she will take her daughter to a city and will take care
of her. When after two years, Rani’s mother went to see her, she found her
nowhere, neither she did find that woman who had promised to take care of her
daughter.
That woman sold Rani to a Human trafficking group that used
to buy and sell child labours. Rani worked as a servant in different houses,
working endlessly for hours, getting beaten and insulted everyday and at times
had to stay hungry for hours. Eight year old Rani forgot to smile, she stopped
talking and stopped making eye contact with people. She was destroyed, lost in
her own world, she submitted herself to this cruel world. But then one day she
was sold to an illegal international institute who gave orphaned kids for
adoption. Rani was adopted by a American woman who took her to her country and
gave her everything that a child needed.
Tom was born in Vietnam, during the 1978 war phase, tom’s
father came to know that his country is forcibly capturing children to train
them as soldiers and their government sending them to war stricken areas to
fight where death is unavoidable. His father was worried about the safety of
his child, so he took his son and put him in a ship and sent him to an unknown
place, for that was the best option he could find. The journey that Tom went through
was to be one of the worst nightmares that a child could see, one of the most scary
experiences a child could endure. First the drinking water ran out of stock and
there was no water to drink. Tom saw several people jumping into the depth of
sea killing themselves before thirst tortured them to death. Then the ship was
attacked by pirates and before Tom several people were killed, many children
were thrown into the sea. One morning the ship started sinking on its own. An island was nearby, so tom and some others
jumped into the sea and swimmed through the currents to reach there.
After a while, the Indonesian government bought them to
their own country and put them in relief camps for refugees. Tom lived their
for two years and then an American couple adopted Tom and took him away with
them.
Pain, sufferings, scary experiences and difficult circumstances
of which every parent would try to rescue his child from, Rani and Tom faced it
all. Both had gone through hell. They both met in US and fell in love. They got
married after some years of dating and are now living a happy Married life.
For sufferings never discriminate on the basis of gender, it
comes to both Men and woman equally. For we are Human first and then a Man or a
Women, Tom and Rani realized that may be and may be their past helped in igniting
the fire of love between them. for grace comes to all one day , for the hours
of suffering will cease to exist, may be some day. Keep hopes in your heart
alive and count your blessings.
